We are expecting two new videos in the near future for songs from Rihanna’s Rated R album, “Rock Star 101″ and “Te Amo” respectively. The former, which features Travis Barker of Blink-182, should hit in its entirety very soon, and we should get a preview of the latter. Below is a behind-the-scenes look at the shooting of the video ‘Rock Star 101′. We saw and heard the pop rock star perform the song on American Idol this season (which I also put below for you to listen to).

More music...Singer Cheryl Cole reportedly picked up a staggering £250,000 for a 30-minute set at a party in Cannes.

The 26-year-old star performed at a dinner party thrown by jewellery brand De Grisogono at the posh Hotel Du Cap. She picked a gold top and slashed trousers for the event and was accompanied by her pal Will.I.Am from Black Eyed Peas. Guests at the bash included Paris Hilton, Lionel Richie and Naomi Campbell, who all watched her performance.

The Black Eyed Peas rapper then took the star to Monaco, where she got to see him perform at the World Music Awards.

Rihanna Rated R tour caught live: shit or hit? (plus video)

The lovely people at Nokia have been giving away tickets for Rihanna shows around the country. Luckily, TT managed to nab a pair and Olly and I headed over to the London O2 Arena last week to see Rihanna live on her Rated R tour.

I consider myself a Rihanna fan. She has some amazing records, her image and style are fierce and you never hear any tales of her behaving like a diva bitch. It was with a positive frame of mind that I took the coveted seat next to Olly and prepared for my socks to be rocked off.

Unfortunately this did not happen. Opening a set with a slow song is always a risk, and here, it was definitely a mis-fire. Russian Roulette is undoubtedly a thrilling and atmospheric song, but it doesn’t set the mood for a stomper of a show. Still, I loved when her dress illuminated with red LED lights as she began the first chorus.

Shedding most of her clothes for Hard which truly suited the post-apocalyptic theme, Rihanna made full use of a pink tank setpiece while her dance troupe postured with rifles, before stomping down the catwalk to do Shut Up And Drive, again centered around a vehicular prop, the audience were treated to some truly ramped up guitars. A lot of the numbers were intensely rock-infused, in fact. RiRi herself steps up to the plate during Rockstar 101, thrashing at her black guitar impressively, but unfortunately we were too far away to see if her moves were real or make believe. All the big hits and my favourite album tracks were performed - Te Amo, with spinning, airbourne dancers; Don’t Stop The Music, temporarily turning the venue into a ravespot, as lasers flashed around the arena; and the final encore of Umbrella, proving why it spent so long (10 weeks!) as a UK #1 single - and taking its place as a classic record in the making.

For all the flashy production though, this show left me ice cold. Rihanna’s attempts to engage with the audience were limited entirely to her screaming “London! London!”, and despite offering major popstar-face in music videos and paparazzi snaps, Ri failed to create those all-important couldn’t-possibly-look-away moments, that come top of the superstar job description, in a live setting. The ballads she performed imploded under an incredibly weak live vocal, and the “end of days” concept wasn’t fully realised, with lacklustre costumes and stage settings, quickly falling apart after the inital few numbers - the one notable exception being Disturbia which featured giant monster dancers to put even the theatrical Lady GaGa to shame, with their entrance, on stilts, managing to be both camp and menacing. Worse though, we weren’t lucky enough to see one of Rihanna’s headline-grabbing stumbles played out live.

There were highlights though - her acoustic version of Wonderwall worked incredibly well, and Breakin’ Dishes, a Good Girl Gone Bad album track was easily the performance of the night - energetic and with a choreographed dance routine that much of the show lacked. Run This Town with Jay-Z on the back screens remains one of the best songs Ri has put her name to, and there is definitely no mistaking a catalogue of hits that, in terms of quality, match or even eclipse stars such as Beyoncé.

Overall, it wasn’t a show I’d like to see again, and I am yet to see a Rihanna performance that is of the standard I would expect from a supposed international superstar. With that said, she continues to improve every year, and hopefully next time around she will be hitting her weight when it comes to her live performance.

A short snippet of the video, directed by Anthony Mandler, has been released on-line.

Rockstar 101, which is taken from her album Rated R, features Guns N' Roses legend Slash.

RIHANNA has had enough of mean and moody men after her troubled relationship with Chris Brown - now she's only interested in guys who make her laugh.

The Umbrella and Te Amo singer, who is in Scotland to perform tonight and tomorrow, was asked what sort of guy she is looking for now.

Apparently that's nothing unusual - she likes to chill out by herself when things get stressful.

She said:"I listen to music, really, really loud. I stop answering my phone, don't reply to emails, and that really helps.

"A lot of the stress is work-related and there's always an email or a call about something else to do at work.

"So when it's al l just too overwhelming I turn everything o and zone out completely."

The singer has also been working with Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake and says she learned different things from the artists.

In fact rap mogul Jay, who signed the singer to his label Def Jam, has become a life mentor to his young protege.

Kelis: 'Rihanna, GaGa copied my style'

Kelis has suggested that artists such as Rihanna and Lady Gaga have intentionally copied her looks.

Following a year of private pain and public shame, it's no wonder she might choose to dwell in a fantasy world, but what comes as a surprise is the frenetic nature of the R&B star's netherworld. As her intro music puts it: "Welcome to the madhouse."

Over the last five years, Rihanna has morphed from a baby Beyoncé into a hard-edged dance-pop diva – and her glitzy show reveals the spoils of her success. She struts, poses, takes a slight tumble on a moving walkway, sits astride the barrel of a pink tank and warbles beneath acrobats suspended on what look like silver M16 assault rifles.

But just as Rihanna's wardrobe of scanty, sparkly leotards and one-legged cat-suits leave little to the imagination, her props can't hide the multiple personalities that muddle her music. The vulnerability of Russian Roulette disappears under the attitude-driven assault of Hard. Disturbia's quirkiness dissipates in the face of the irony-free Rockstar 101, just one of the many opportunities Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt seizes to grind out a heavy riff, causing consternation to an audience here not to mosh but to dance.

The pace is relentless, and there are few words from our heroine to hold the disparate moods together. Instead, Rihanna saves her impressive energy for the superior pop of Don't Stop the Music, SOS and Umbrella, rolling her hips and revelling in her Caribbean roots on the brilliant Rude Boy. Following her mentor Jay-Z's lead, she takes a brief acoustic foray into Oasis's Wonderwall and indulges in a display of drum finesse during a cover of Sheila E's The Glamorous Life.

However, it's only on the ballads Take a Bow and Unfaithful that Rihanna really comes into her own. Free from the bedlam of suspended platforms, prancing dancers and plastic gimmicks, her voice shines and the 21-year-old finally looks at peace.

Rihanna suffers another tumble on tour

Rihanna was lucky to avoid further injury on her tour on Monday when she fell down a flight of stairs during her London show.

The Umbrella hitmaker has suffered a series of nasty injuries on her current trek - she was admitted to hospital in Switzerland last month after injuring her ribs, and just days later the singer slipped on stage at a concert in France.

Rihanna 'to launch burlesque nightclubs'

Rihanna may launch a new business venture by creating her own chain of nightclubs, a report has claimed.

The 'Rude Boy' singer is currently considering the idea after it was suggested by her mentor Jay-Z, according to the Daily Star.

Popstar Rihanna was paid a whopping amount for making a brief appearance at a London nightclub.

The 22-year-old was given the big fat cheque just to show her face at the seven-star club Bamboo over the weekend.

Chipmunk has revealed that he wants to record a track with Rihanna.

The teen rapper, who teamed up with Justin Timberlake's protégé Esmée Denters for current hit 'Until You Were Gone', is keen to tap into the Bajan hitmaker's popstar magnetism.

Since we reported on TaleTela that Nicki Minaj was about to go on tour with Rihanna and Ke$ha - the 'Massive Attack' singer has been taken off the bill because of fears she would upstage Rihanna, according to reports.

While it’s great to see that her team have finally decided on a single (after changing it three times), it’s not so great to see that Ms. Fenty has reverted back to her dark/faux-edgy look.
